Kickboxing & Muay Thai
Pads and Bag Drills, Shadowboxing, Clinch, Cardio & Strength and for advanced students, Sparring
We've modelled our Muay Thai classes at Sting Gym Frankston to be similar to those run in gyms throughout Thailand: Skip rope – helps add more bounce to your step, strengthens your calves and warms you up, getting you ready for the class. Shadowboxing – is where you begin visualising yourself stepping into the ring, touching gloves and getting ready for a real fight. Pad work – where you drive your cardio and focus on improving your technique and mental strength. Sparring (for advanced students) – sparring with a partner is an integral part of your routine as it simulates what it might feel like to be in the ring against an opponent. Bag work – the focus is primarily on extending your technique and practising combinations from your pad work or those you want to try out on your own. Clinch – clinching is core to Muay Thai, and you will inevitably end up in a clinch at one point or another. It is challenging, brutal and gratifying work. Cool down, stretch – stretching your muscles will help with recovery by flushing lactic acid out of them. It also gives you time and space to reflect on your session. Please note: if this is your first time at Sting Gym Frankston, please contact us before your first class so we can get to know your fitness goals.
